The main purpose of this grain cleaner is to separate and remove all coarse, oversized objects and impurities from an incoming grain stream. The grain cleaner basically comprises a cylindrical sieve screen rotating about a horizontal axis. The incoming grain stream is fed across to the head end of the cleaner and deposited onto the inside of the rotating screen. The acceptable grain passes through the screen to an outlet hopper below. The “oversize” products are conveyed along the inside of the cylinder and discharged from the open end into a separate discharge hopper. The incoming grain feed spout and the cylindrical screen are readily removable from the large end access door. The cleaner is fully enclosed and sealed within a mild steel weatherproof casing and mounted on four support legs. The cleaner is driven by an 0.75 k.w. electric gearmotor (single phase or 3 phase). |
